ResortQuest Waikiki Beachside - detailed hotel review and pictures Latest Update:    Starting September 1, 2007, Hawaii Travel Bureau is no longer offering ResortQuest Waikiki Beachside. We saw many problems during our last inspection of the property, and several of our customers complained about the hotel's quality and cleanliness. Even though the views and service are very good, the hotel needs a renovation badly (last renovation was done in 1991).    So, instead of ResortQuest Waikiki Beachside, we recommend staying at Pacific Beach Hotel (if you want to be across from the beach) or ResortQuest Waikiki Joy (if you are looking for a small boutique hotel).    Table of Contents: 1. 1. Location    This boutique hotel is right across the street from Waikiki Beach. It is close to the bus line and all the major shopping centers.    ResortQuest Waikiki Beachside (former Aston Waikiki Beachside) is located on busy Kalakaua Avenue, but when you enter the hotel, all street noise and bustle is left behind. Marble-filled lobby feels very elegant and charming. Soothing Italian fountain is surrounded by spray of flowers, and gentle classical music is playing in the background.    The entire hotel looks like a turn-of-the-century Hawaiian estate home with an exclusive collection of fine antiques and furnishings from around the world. 2. Rooms    The rooms are very small in size, but make up for it in decor. Your room will be tastefully decorated with artwork and antiques, including hand-painted Oriental screens and 18th-century furnishings.    Standard rooms have no windows and remind cabins of a cruise ship.    If you want a really unforgettable experience, splurge for an Oceanfront Room. It will have wonderful unobstructed views of Waikiki beach, beautiful sunsets and ever-changing vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Each room has: Air-conditioning Private lanai in some rooms Refrigerator Color cable TV with VCR 2 phones with voice mail In-room safe Hair dryer Iron and board upon request Special tropical shell memento Complimentary daily newspaper Maid service twice-a-day 3. Restaurants    There are on-site restaurants, but complimentary continental breakfast is served in the lobby each morning.    On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, a 3-course tea service (with different teas, sandwiches, desserts, and more), served on antique china, is presented in the lobby and courtyard. Many of Waikiki's finest restaurants are within walking distance. 4. Things to do    The only thing this hotel is missing is a pool; but with the beach 10 feet from the hotel door, a pool isn't really needed.
