1. Location Named after Hawaii's last princess, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel is built on the grounds of her former estate across the street from Waikiki Beach. The hotel is surrounded by array of stores and restaurants, including International Marketplace. Bus stop is 50 yds away. Hotel grounds are very well landscaped, with palms, tropical plants and rock ponds all around. The lobby is open-air, and flowers are everywhere.
2. Rooms This hotel has 1,150 rooms. The best rooms are located in the high-rise Ainahau Tower (29 stories). Rooms are larger and more recently renovated, and you can see both the Diamond Head and the ocean from most rooms. There is also the original low-rise building with 2 wings: Princess Wing and Kaiulani Wing (11 stories each). Rooms here are older but neat and clean, most overlook nearby street and hotel grounds. The rooms have been recently renovated and double-insulated doors with soundproofing have been added which makes a big difference in the never-sleeping Waikiki.
3. Restaurants Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel has 4 restaurants and 4 lounges, including: 1) Momoyama - authentic Japanese cuisine. Enjoy an extensive selection of sushi and lunch or dinner combinations. 2) Pikake Terrace - reasonably priced, casual restaurant in a poolside garden setting. Hearty breakfast buffet has everything from made-to-order omelets to prime rib. The a la carte menu offers a wide selection of salads, sandwiches and broiled meats and seafood. Enjoy Hawaiian music performances at the lava rock stage poolside each evening. 3) Pikake Lounge - a great place to unwind and sip tropical drinks by the pool. 4) Princess Food Court - an international food court featuring everything from burgers to stir fry to fresh-made sandwiches, pizzas, ice cream, beer, wine. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 5) Creation - A Polynesian Journey - Sheraton's newest dinner and cocktail show. The show takes you through the history of South Pacific through some of the most interesting songs and dances of Tahiti, New Zealand, Fiji, the Marquesas Islands, Samoa and Hawaii. There are a lot of special effects and illusions, the sound system is superb. It is a very high energy and exciting performance. Dinner is a lavish buffet featuring carved prime rib, baked chicken, sauteed Mahimahi and other hot entrees, an assortment of Maki sushi, pasta salad, tossed greens, fresh fruits and a dessert bar. A tropical Mai Tai cocktail or choice of soda, draft beer, coffee or tea is included in the dinner price. The dinner/show tickets cost about $65 per person. It runs Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun.
