1. Location ResortQuest at Poipu Kai (former Aston at Poipu Kai Resort) is located on the South Shore, known as the "sunny side" of the island. It is spread on 70 acres of lush tropical gardens, bordered by 2 beautiful sandy beaches, Brennecke's and Shipwreck Beach. Half-mile away is the Poipu Shopping Village, a lovely open-air island-style mall with shops and restaurants nestled in the middle of the gardens. It is a very safe area, so if you are traveling with teens, they can go to the shopping center on their own. Historic Koloa Town is a few minutes drive away. It is a very charming place where you can see ruins of Kauai's first sugar plantation and some of the oldest buildings in Hawaii. Each building has its own story, for example, one of them was Kauai's first hotel where traveling salesmen stayed over 100 years ago. The town has a few local shops, grocery store where you can get fresh island fruit, vegetables and meat, and some restaurants. Lihue Airport is 14 miles away.
2. Rooms 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom condos at ResortQuest at Poipu Kai have spacious and airy interiors custom furnished with island-style furniture. If you are looking for a great view, book an ocean view condo which will sit on the side of a gently sloping hill, about 200 yards from the Shipwreck Beach. The views from lanai are breathtaking! Leave the lanai door open at night and fall asleep to the sound of waves.
