1. Location
Location Maui's main airport, Kahului (OGG) is only 40 min away.
2. Rooms Two low-rise buildings at ResortQuest Paki Maui are centered around a nice garden area (lots of palms and flowers) and large fish pond between them. This is not a new property (built in the early 70's), but it is has been maintained very well. All furnishings are in a light-colored rattan and tropical prints. From a garden view room, you will see the garden on one side and the parking lot and West Maui mountains on the other side. Oceanfront rooms offer spectacular views of the Pacific and neighrboring islands, and you can also see the gardens on the back side. The best part of your condo will be the oversized lanai. It runs the full length of the living room, and is pretty wide, with 2 chairs and a table. Oceanfront view is unbelievable - you can throw a rock and hit the water. There are palm trees and grass in front, and a short wall that drops down to the beach. Every morning, you can make your own cofee, sit on the lanai and soak in the Maui morning sun. The ocean is right there and the waves are loud, but it is a very peaceful sound. If you stay here during winter (Dec-Mar), you can watch whales spouting, breeching and jumping in the ocean. The condo faces west, so you will be able to see some really spectacular sunsets. 3. Restaurants ResortQuest Paki Maui (also known as Aston Paki Maui) does not have an on-site restaurant, but there are quite a few restaurants and cafes located within 1-2 miles from the condo. Here are our 4 favorite places: 1) Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant & Lounge – 1.5 miles away, at Royal Lahaina Resort You will enjoy tropical breezes in an open-air setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Maui’s neighboring islands. They serve breakfast and dinner, as well as lavish themed buffets on select evenings. The lounge is a popular relaxing place where you can get a tropical drink along with an appetizer. 2) Basil Tomatoes Italian Grille – 1.5 miles away, at Royal Lahaina Resort This is the nicest restaurant at the Royal Lahaina. It overlooks the Kaanapali North Golf Course and the Kaanapali Beach. The food is very interesting, a variety of Italian specialties with Hawaiian flair, accompanied by a selection of fine wines. Start with a Gorgonzola Salad (mixed greens with Gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, and a cabernet sauvignon dressing), then try Fish Du Jour (like grilled swordfish over fetuccine alfredo with spinach and mushrooms), or Spicy Italian Sausage over linguini of your choice. The prices are quite reasonable by Maui standards, with appetizers in the $7-$11 range and entrees mostly under $25. Add to that the front door parking, easy going breezy ambiance and attentive but unobtrusive service, and you've got a perfect dinner! 3) Tiki Terrace Restaurant - 2.4 miles away, at Kaanapali Beach Hotel This is a comfortable, laid-back place to hang out after a busy day. You will enjoy true Hawaii-style dining - open air, featuring fresh island fish and seafood, as well as juicy stakes and huli huli (rotisserie) suckling pig. Children 5 & under eat free with paying adult. In the evening, come here for a wonderful free Hula Show with its fascinating rhythms, beauty and grace. After the show, dance under swaying palms to the beat of swinging island music. This restaurant has won the prestigious Kahili Award from the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau in recognition of sharing the culture and history of the Hawaiians wit visitors. Tiki Grill & Bar - 2.4 miles away, at Kaanapali Beach Hotel Have a burger on the beach, or a cool Caesar salad in the tropical gardens. Salads and sandwiches are crisp and fresh, perfect for an afternoon at the pool. They also have some great exotic cocktails, including the Lava Flow, a refreshing non-alcoholic smoothie blended from freshly picked local fruit. Pina coladas are fantastic but pricey. If you come here in the evening, you will have a great view of the nightly Hula Show.
