1. Location

   Outrigger Reef occupies a prime spot on Waikiki Beach, in the center of everything. Every evening, crowds of folks line up the beach to watch the sun go down into the ocean.

   Outrigger Reef on the Beach is located 9 miles from Honolulu International Airport, 4 miles from Downtown Honolulu, and just 1 mile from Kapiolani Park, Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium. There is a bus stop right in front, and for a $1 fee, you can ride down the strip to catch a nightclub act or go shopping at the famous International Marketplace.


2. Rooms

   There are 872 rooms in 3 hotel towers. Your room will have classic well-designed Outrigger furnishings and decorations with great views and plenty of extra room to have a couple of kids bedding down. Blackout drapes are a nice touch for jet-lagged travelers, as is a hospitality room for early check-ins or late check-outs.

3. Restaurants

   Outrigger Reef on the Beach has 3 restaurants and 3 lounges:

   1) Aloha Lobby Lounge - enjoy continental breakfast from 6 - 9 am in cozy open-air cafe, then come back for Hawaiian entertainment and hula dancing from 6:45 - 10:30 pm every night.

   2) Chief's Hut - known as on of the best values in Waikiki, this restaurant is great for family dining. Their fresh island seafood is delicious! Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, live Hawaiian music and dancing in the evening.

   3) Ocean House - oceanfront dining in a casually elegant, open-air atmosphere. Excellent Pacific Rim cuisine, like fresh island seafood, juicy prime rib, and homemade pasta. Chef specialities include Crab Stuffed Mahi Mahi, Kahuku Moi steamed with garlic scampi black bean sauce, and Pulehu Prime Rib. Open for dinner 5-10pm.

   4) Pool Terrace Bar - poolside sports bar with wide-screen TV and good choice of chilled beverages.

   5) Shore Bird Restaurant - extremely popular oceanfront spot. You will love the views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head! Try all-you-can-eat salad bar, then grill your own hand-carved steak and fresh fish! Offers great buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails.


4. Things to do

  • Shopping Arcade
       3 towers at the Outrigger Reef are connected by a mega-lobby. The lobby has enough shops to qualify as a mini-shopping mall wrapping around an inner tropical garden with impressive landscaped pond and rock waterfall.

       15 shops have everything from designer to local-made jewelry, variety of aloha wear, Hawaiian children's clothes, unique fun T-shirts and gifts. There is also a dive shop that offers free introductory scuba lessons in the pool.

  • Serenity Spa
       Enjoy local and traditional treatments including hits like Lomi Lomi Massage and Hot Lava Rock Massage, as well as manicures, pedicures, Vichy showers, full-body wraps and skin-smoothing facials. They use exotic tropical oils and unique plant extracts to help you relax and literally feel the true spirit of aloha. Another popular service is poolside massage.

  • Aloha Friday Celebration
       Share the aloha spirit every Friday with live performances of hula and Hawaiian music, flower lei making, and art and craft exhibits. It's a lot of fun and absolutely free!

  • Children's Program (ages 5-13)
    Cowabunga Kids' Club runs 7 days a week year-round. They have different activities every day, like boogie boarding, ceramic painting, fishing, Hawaiian flower lei making and canoe riding, as well as field trips to the Zoo and Aquarium. The staff is very experienced and attentive. Here are the rates:

       Full day (8:45am-4:45pm) - appr. $50 per child.
       Half day (8:45am-1pm or 1pm-4:45pm) - appr. $35 per child.
       Lunch and snack are included.

       Babysitting service is also available.
