1. Location

Miramar Hotel at Waikiki is set right in the heart of Waikiki, on Kuhio Avenue. Waikiki's most prominent stretch of beach is just 1 1/2 blocks away. The International Marketplace is next door, Honolulu Zoo and Aquarium are within an easy walking distance.

The bus stop is just at the corner, so you can hop on to go to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, or around the island (the fare is just $1).

Miramar at Waikiki is known for its outgoing, congenial staff. All of the hotel's employees, whether they work in the lobby or the restaurant, are very friendly and personable. You will be treated like a truly special guest!

2. Rooms

The 21-story Miramar at Waikiki building includes 357 rooms. After the renovation, bright and cheerful rooms became even more inviting. Although many moderately-priced hotels have claustrophobic guest rooms, each room at Miramar Hotel at Waikiki offers ample living space, and large sliding balcony doors.

Large bathroom has a bath/shower combo, definitely a nice feature since many hotels in Waikiki have a shower only.

As part of the renovation, new TV and Internet access have been added. Now you can check the email in the comfort of your room - no need to lug around a laptop computer, or make a special trip to an Internet café.

The best rooms are the Deluxe and Partial Ocean View categories. Those are located high up and have sweeping views of the city and the busy streets below.

    Each room has:
  • Beds: 1 king or 2 doubles or 2 twins (exc. Standard which has 2 twins only)
  • Air-conditioning
  • Spacious private lanai with table and chairs
  • Mini-refrigerator
  • Coffee/tea maker
  • Color cable TV with free HBO
  • Internet access (fee)
  • Iron and board
  • Hair dryer
  • In-room safe
  • Daily maid service
  • Non-smoking rooms available

3. Restaurants

Miramar Hotel at Waikiki has 4 on-site restaurants and 2 lounges:

   1) Cafe Peoni - Full American Buffet Breakfast is served from 6:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The bountiful buffet offers eggs, meats, fresh fruits and pastries, cereal and Asian-style rice and miso soup. Cafe Peoni is located on the 5th floor near the pool.

   2) Denny's Family Restaurant - Open 24 hrs.

   3) Fatty's Chinese Kitchen - Chinese fast food served 10:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

   5) Banana Patch Lounge - Open 6:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. nightly. Enjoy the ever-popular karaoke!

   6) Poolside Bar - Stop by for a drink or snack anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The pool is a relaxing and private place to unwind, there's no street noise or crowds.
