1. Location    Best Western Maui Oceanfront Inn is nestled at the gateway to Wailea, an upscale resort area. From the hotel, you can see majestic slopes of inland Haleakala Crater, neighboring islands Molokai and Lanai, and colorful tropical sunsets.    A great white sand beach (Keawakapu Beach) is literally inches away, you can walk from your room to the beach without wearing shoes! The beach has a protected reef, snuggled nicely between 2 protruding lava flows, so you can safely swim and snorkel next to green sea turtles, tropical fish and coral.    Best Western Maui Oceanfront Inn is just 100 yards to entrance to Wailea, a popular upscale resort area.    Kahului Airport (OGG), Maui’s main airport, is only 12 miles away. The rest of the island is easily accessible from the hotel. 2. Rooms    All rooms at Best Western Maui Oceanfront Inn look new and impeccably clean. They are not very large, but well designed to maximize use of space. Restaurants    Best Western Maui Oceanfront Inn has a wonderful 5-star restaurant on site:    1) Sarento’s on the Beach - is nestled on one of Maui’s premier beaches overlooking the islands of Molokini, Lanai, and Kahoolawe. This restaurant is known for unsurpassed romantic ocean views.    Classical Italian menu includes fresh pasta, lamb, veal, and the freshest Hawaiian seafood. The main wine cellar offers over 75 domestic and important wines ranging in price from $20 to $1,000 per bottle. This is one of the most respected collections of wines in Hawaii. It contains over 1,500 botles from France, California, Germany, with a focus on rare Italian wines.    What’s good? For starters, try mussels in a garlic and white wine Parmesan broth with grilled Tuscan bread, or grilled Portobello Napoleon, layered with prosciutto, eggplant, mozzarella, tomato and arugula pesto. Popular entrees include lobster cannelloni or grilled porcini-crusted ahi.     Dinner is served every night from 5:30pm to 10pm.    There are many other restaurants nearby, from small local cafes to upscale establishments. This place gives the people what they want, and is very successful at it. Simple, cheap and huge meals include favorites like Pork Lau Lau, Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu and Kalua Pork.
