1. Location    Maui Kamaole is located in the quieter part of Kihei, closer to Wailea than to Kihei town. The resort sits on a little hill across the street from the Kamaole Beach Park III. You get really nice views looking down to the ocean.    It is great to be so close to all 3 Kamaole beaches, as well as the Big Beach in Wailea. You can swim, snorkel or just play in the sand. These beaches have plenty of trees for shade, huge grassy areas, and a few rock outcroppings that attract fish making snorkeling very exciting. Be sure to take your camera because you will have some great photo opportunities, posing by the golden sand or volcanic rocks.    If you are looking for a long walk, walk 5 minutes along Kihei Road, then hop onto Keawekapu Beach, and you can walk on the beaches all the way through Wailea.    Maui Kamaole has a total of 316 condos located on 23 acres. Grounds are meticulously landscaped in classic Hawaiian garden style. Maui’s lush, tropical climate offers perfect year-round growing conditions for some of the world’s most beautiful flowers. Enjoy relaxing evening strolls on the velvety lawns, among fragrant flora and shady palms. 2. Rooms    Maui Kamaole was built in 2000, so all units are still in immaculate condition. You will find your condo very comfortable, well decorated with contemporary furniture (no cheesy flowery prints here!) and furnished with enough kitchen stuff to make cooking easy.    Having breakfast on your lanai is a good way to start any day! If you can afford an ocean view condo, you will be very impressed with the panoramic view of the ocean framed by the islands of Lanai, Kahoolawe and Molokini.    Cross-ventilation will let you enjoy ocean breezes in the room, and you probably won’t even feel the need to turn a/c on, but it’s there if you need it.    All buildings have 2 stories. 1-bedroom condos are all located downstairs, and most of them feature open patios surrounded by tropical gardens.    2-bedroom units occupy both stories, with living room opening to a large deck. Their set-up gives you maximum privacy - master bedroom is located upstairs (above living room), and second bedroom is set in the back of the condo. It will remind you of a luxury townhouse. Each condo features: Air-conditioning Private lanai Air-conditioning Ceiling fans Large private lanai with table and chairs 2 bathrooms Full kitchen with modern appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher) Cable TV and VCR Washer/dryer     3. Restaurants    Maui Kamaole does not have an on-site restaurant, but there are many choices nearby, from small local cafes to upscale establishments. Here are some restaurants that we think you should try:    1) Five Palms Restaurant – 0.3 miles away    Dine right on the crystal-blue ocean front of romantic Keawakapu Beach, surrounded by swaying palm trees. Large open-air windows reveal breathtaking panoramic views and emnrave you with warm sea breezes. You can listen to the waves and watch nature’s daily floor show, and occasionally a pod of playful humpback whales, just off their veranda!    Five Palms serves contemporary island cuisine at affordable prices. It has been named one of the Top 10 Restaurants in Hawaii by Food & Wine Magazine and one of Most Romantic Restaurants of Hawaii by Gourmet Magazine. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.    Located at 2960 S Kihei Rd      2) Greek Bistro – 0.5 miles away    Only Greek restaurant in Kihei. The Greek Bistro specializes in spanakopita, lamb gyros, shish kabob, and moussaka; their dolmas are superb.    Located at 2511 S Kihei Rd #102    3) Da Kitchen – 0.6 miles away    Want to try real local food? This place gives the people what they want, and is very successful at it. Simple, cheap and huge meals include favorites like Pork Lau Lau, Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu and Kalua Pork. Every plate features large portion of meat, 2 scoops of rice, macaroni salad and potato salad. Sandwiches and soup are also served.    Located at 2439 S Kihei Rd #201A      4) Nick’s Fishmarket – 0.6 miles away    Great choice for a nice romantic dinner out. This restaurant is beautifully designed with a huge aquarium, curved granite bar and glass wine cellar that shines like a jewel. You can dine inside at a comfortable intimate booth, or on the outside terrace amid fragrant flowers. Nick's is famous for creative fresh seafood dishes prepared with island herbs and vegetables. Open daily 5:30pm-10pm.    Located at 2439 S Kihei Rd #206A      5) Maui Tacos - 0.7 miles away    Absolutely the best Mexican food in Hawaii! The menu features grilled steak, chicken and island fresh fish served in tacos, burritos, etc. All the basic recipes are authentic - they come from the grandmother of the Executive Chef Mark Ellman. Maui Tacos also offers a “Free Salsa Bar” where you can choose from 5 different salsas. Everything is very fresh-tasting, without the greasiness or saltiness that often plagues Mexican food.    Located at 2411 S Khei Rd #B6 4. Things to do Water Sports    You can try sailing, water skiing, surfing, snorkeling, diving, boating or jet skiing - all right outside your condo. One of the best snorkeling and diving spots on Maui is the tiny island of Molokini, just off the shore. There are many different boat cruises that can take you over there. Molokini has consistent visibility in the 80’-150’ range, and has sites ranging from beginning snorkeling inside the protected rater to advance drift diving on the backside wall. You’ll see more fish than in aquarium store, with all the colors of the rainbow. Golf    About 10-20 min drive from Maui Kamaole are Wailea and Makena courses. You can choose among five par 72 chamionship golf courses with unparalleled ocean and mountain views. Shopping    Feel like splurging a little? The Shops at Wailea, a new boutique center, as well as major resort hotels with more shops and world-class spas, are within 2 miles.
