1. Location    Castle Kaha Lani (former Aston Kaha Lani) is located in a hidden spot on the East Shore, 10 minutes from Kapaa and Wailua towns where you will find a few shops and restaurants. There are no condos or hotels nearby, so you'll basically have the whole area to yourself.    Castle Kaha Lani means "Heavenly Place" in Hawaiian, which is very appropriate for the condo's beautiful setting. It is only a couple of steps from a quiet white-sand beach. This is not a good swimming beach (because of strong currents), but it's wonderful to take a long walk and listen to the surf. The nearest swimming beach is in Poipu, about 15 min drive south.    This condo is ideally situated between North and South Shore, so you will have easy access to any activities or attractions.    Lihue Airport is only 5 miles away, but you never hear any airplane noise. 2. Rooms    Your condo will be clean and pretty decorated with many island accents like shells, bowls, etc. If you book an oceanfront unit, you will be just 30 yards away from the beach.    The views of the ocean from your lanai are really soul-cleansing. The sound of the surf will lull you to a restful sleep every night. This place is excellent for family vacation or romantic getaway.    The condo will have everything you may possibly need. Kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and dishes. When you come back after a busy day out, you can cook dinner, eat it outside on the lanai, and then watch movies in your living room. Each room features: Ceiling fans (no a/c but you will still feel comfortable because of the tradewinds) Large private lanai Fully equipped kitchen with microwave and coffee maker Shower/tub combo Color cable TV and VCR Iron and board In-room safe Daily maid service     3. Restaurants    There are quite a few restaurants and cafes located within 1-2 miles from the condo. Here are our 4 favorite places:    1) Flying Lobster/Voyage Restaurant - located 1.4 miles away, at the Courtyard by Marriott Kauai    Start off your day with a hearty full-American buffet breakfast, then relish an affordably priced lobster dinner or other American and Hawaiian regional specialties in a tropical setting. Come over on Saturday night for the popular Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet.    If you are traveling with children, keep in mind that each child 11 years and younger eats free with each paying adult.    2) Royal Coconut Grove Lounge - located 1.4 miles away, at the Courtyard by Marriott Kauai    Relax by the pool and feel the tropical breezes on your face. The lounge serves lunch and appetizers, and many tropical cocktails. Each evening, the popular Happy Hour has a different island drink on special. A couple of nights a week they have a local band playing traditional Hawaiian songs in the courtyard.    3) Kauai Coconut Beach Luau - located 1.4 miles away, at the Courtyard by Marriott Kauai    This nightly show starts at dusk with a torch lighting ceremony, and then follows with about an hour of hula dancing and singing. Balmy breezes and silhouettes of swaying palm trees set a great stage for this colorful celebration of Aloha.    There is also an all-you-can eat buffet with traditional Hawaiian delicacies, and an open bar.    You can book the luau directly through the hotel once you arrive.    4) Naupaka Terrace Steak House - 0 miles away, at Hilton Kauai Beach Resort    This is a nice restaurant that serves breakfast buffet and American-style dishes (including mid-western aged beef and local seafood) for all meals, at fairly reasonable prices between $10 and $20. Outside tables are a favorite place for guests - you get terrific views of the ocean, pool, and torch-lit waterfalls.    Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.   4. Things to do Beach activities    One of the best beach parks on Kauai, Lydgate Park, is right next door. It is a popular protected swimming and snorkeling beach, with acres and acres of green space, plus a great playground for the childen. There is a lifeguard on duty.
