1. Location       The W Honolulu Hotel is nestled at the base of Diamond Head Crater, in a quiet spot down the road from the touristy shops and mega hotels of Waikiki. Across from Kapiolani Park and adjacent to 2 fabulous beaches, this hotel is within walking distance to the Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu Zoo and Diamond Head Lookout.    Hotel lobby looks like an elegant living room. It has an Indonesian feel, with marble and soft-colored teak accentuating art and furniture from Bali. When you arrive, you don't need to wait at the front desk - the hotel staff will first escort you to your room, offer you chilled towels and something to drink, and then check you in right in the privacy of your room.    Although W Honolulu Diamond Head is not on the beach, you have access to the small private beach in front of the Colony Surf, a condo next door. The walk will take you 30 seconds. 2. Rooms    There are 44 rooms, 3 suites and a 2-bedroom penthouse. Each floor only has 5 rooms, and hallways are open to the tropical breezes. All rooms face towards Diamond Head but the lower floor rooms are classified as Diamond Head View, and the higher rooms are Ocean View.    Your room will be light and airy, furnished in contemporary and a little hip Balinese decor. King-size bed with pillow-top mattress, soft pillows and 250-thread count sheets feels like a soft cloud.    Bathroom is roomy and has Japanese-style tub/shower combination. A beautiful live orchid in the bathroom is a lovely touch. Restaurants    1) Diamond Head Grill - exotic blend of Asian, Euro-American and Polynesian Cuisine. Favorites include miso soup and seafood entrees. Everybody knows and loves the chef, David Paul. Open for dinner.    2) Wonder Lounge - located inside the Diamond Head Grill restaurants, this is a trendy and happening place. Signature drinks include "Mai Tai Martini" and "Booty Call". It's kind of cool to sip a cosmopolitan stretched out on the bar's "signature" piece - a raspberry velvet bed. Enjoy cozy environment and live contemporary jazz music. Open 6pm-12am. 4. Things to do    Waikiki Beach with its shops and restaurants is only a 15-min walk from the hotel.
